How To Make A Spawning Mop For Fish Breeding

Spawning Mops are often used in Aquarium Fish Breeding for many reasons. They’re easily available, easy to sanitize, and easy to move. Many egg laying fish will choose to lay eggs in the mop, which allows you to pull the mop and let the fry raise up in another tank, or give the fry enough cover to survive.

Step 1: Wrap yarn around a stencil 50-100 times.

Step 2: Tie Yarn on one side with a separate piece of yarn.

Step 3: Cut yarn on the opposite side of where you tied the knot.

Step 4: Add in your floating piece, and use another piece of yarn to tie it in place.
